Played in Orchestras in Europe but made my hobby of recording my profession back in 1987. Started my own record label (Channel Classics Records) in 1990 named after the street I lived on in Amsterdam. (Kanaal straat). Working with a select group of musicians has been a great experience that has taken me all over the world!

We live in a 200 year old major's house in the middle of the country. Since the kids are out of the house, 5 rooms are now on AirBnB. Look for our own site www.kerkenstein.com
September 2021 - just sold my company but staying on for at least 3 years doing the same work without the pressures...

School Story:

The one story I remember the most is getting punished for missing Band practice though we had spent the whole day going around to all the classrooms playing Christmas Carols..... ah Mr. Harris

Its not everyday that a Needham boy has been knighted by the King of Holland. It also came as a big surprise to me when my record company was celebrating our 25th anniversary concert in November. It would seem that my years of work promoting young dutch artists has not gone unnoticed. The dutch are pretty low key about this sort of thing so no 'Sir Jared' for me.
