Some kind words from Beth Wood
"I don't remember when Dwight died, and his senior photo was not in the yearbook, but he was in our class. There IS a photo of him in his wheelchair in the yearbook, with a cat on his wheelchair lap desk. I knew him best from Pollard, and sat behind him for some classes. He was a sweet, dear soul who bore his disability with such strength and dignity.

I, too, remember Dwight, fondly! He had such a sweet personality! I always respected him!

Dwight and I were best pals at Mitchell School beginning in Kindergarten. Both of us were rather shy and quiet and became instant friends. I remember sitting under the big tree at recess watching other kids play and counting all the big ants crawling around. Funny thing to remember, but I do. In our class picture books (that I still have), I listed Dwight as "Someone Nice" in 1st grade and "My Pal" in 4th grade.
