Tommy and I were whitewater canoing and backpackiing buddies way back in the 70s. I tell friends stories to this day about some of our crazy exploits, some of which I can't repeat here. He was a good guy and I always hoped we'd reconnect some day but I couldn't track him down -- I think he was in Florida last I knew. Sad news indeed.
